Join Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk, Friday, August 5th 2016 from 6 to 10pm in Central Park.

Come help Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk kick off a great weekend of Blues and BBQ. Starting at 6pm Youth Can Move The World Group will entertain and educate through a choreographed dance performance, then there will be musical entertainment by Dan Peart – 3 Time Iowa Solo/Duo Blues Challenge Finalist, with classic songs and personal originals featuring several styles of blues: finger picking, resonator slide guitar, harmonica playing and passionate vocals. Live music starts at 7pm.

As always there will be food vendors, art and much more. Lawn Jenga, Ladder Ball, potato sack races and other games will be out and ready for some friendly competition.

Many galleries, venues and restaurants around the square will be open and participating. For a full listing follow the Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk website. www.farifeldartwalk.org items will be added as the event gets closer.

Americus Gallery-100 W. Burlington Ave. “Americus Gallery will be showing Christopher Kufner’s Large Format Photography on archival paper of the Tuscan Countryside, original oil paintings, featuring Italian/French Landscapes, and Figurative works. Also, showing original oil paintings by Kim Kufner, Leaping Koi sculptures by Dale Divoky, and diochroic glass jewelry by Pedro Lujano.” Gallery Hours:Tuesday – Thursday 10 – 6, ArtWalk Friday 10 – 9, Saturday 10 – 5.

Arbor Bar- At the Garden’s The Arbor will have live music by Skunk River Medicine Show (local acoustic blues) at 8pm, free. We’ll also be offering a dinner menu by Over The Moon, the restaurant in our space.

Art 52- 52 Briggs Ave. SILENCEPRODUCEPRESENCE- Chad Starling and Judy Bales. Open Artwork night 6:30-9:30

At Home- 52 N. Main St.- All things Peaches!! Cooking Demonstration 7:30-8:30pm Open from 9-9 Art Walk.

Blue Fish-56-58 S. Main St. Will be Closed, however the display windows will feature whimsical vegetable sculptures by Craig Nutt, in addition to new hand-printed clothing creations.

Carnegie Historical Museum-112 S. Court St. open at 112 South Court from 6 til 9 p.m. Various displays

Central Park Futon- 56 S. Main St. Will be Closed.

CoLab- 107 ½ S. Main St. Open for Art Walk. Various artists on display in Main Room and Conference Room.

Crest Jewel- 48 N. Main St. “The Blues” David Kupferman, Terrence Kennedy
(from their blue period), and Jewels, Shawls and Clothing
Open late starting at 7PM

Fairfield Art Association- Located in the Civic Center “Jewelry and Metal Art” by Stephanie Brohman, Trudi Starbeck-Miller, and Bethany Laranda Wood, members of MFA Dept. of University of Iowa. Friday August 5, 6-8 PM in Main Gallery at FACC. Opening Reception with Gallery Talk at 7:15 pm. ALSO, “Gobble Sculpture” by Christopher Bennett. Unveiling of small bronze at 6:00 pm Atrium Lobby, Gobble Project Update follows with artist. Don’t forget the “Imaginative Little Libraries” displayed downtown Fairfield Silent Auction Begins – Bid Sheets at FACC.

Green Building Supply- 118 W. Burlington Ave. Will be Closed.

Henderson’s Gallery & Framing- 53 W. Broadway Ave. Will be Closed.

ICON Gallery- 58 N. Main St. Black and White Show Continues through August 5th. Open 6:30-10:00pm The show consists of over 100 works by 30 photographers. Rather than the usual severe minimalist presentation of photos, all the same size, all in a row, this show is a large eclectic mix of styles and subjects, hung in a variety of ways. The artists range from local talents to top regional professionals.

Thymely Solutions- 104 N. Court St. will be open until 8:30 or so for Artwalk Friday. We will have puppies for sale out in front of the store from 7-8!

Revelations -112 N. Main St. Revelations Art Walk hours on Friday are 8AM – 9 PM
